Market Outlook
Nifty continues to hover confidently near its life-high levels, with BankNifty showing similar resilience. But beneath this calm surface, the broader market is starting to feel the heat. Mid and small-cap indices are struggling at elevated zones, hinting that the market breadth is quietly weakening.
One interesting observation: Nifty has managed to print a fresh all-time high at 26325, beating the previous peak of 26277, yet it still hasn’t been able to close above last year’s highest closing level of 26218. This subtle but important detail reflects a bit of hesitation from the bulls at higher zones. Adding to the market’s discomfort, USDINR jumping above 90 has injected a fresh layer of uncertainty and pressure.
In such a setup, short- to medium-term traders need to play smart—not aggressive. This is a phase where stock selection becomes crucial. The focus should be on strong large-cap names and midcaps displaying clear relative strength. Themes like banks, financial services, and autos continue to stand out with better stability.
Looking at the Nifty chart from a positional angle, the broader trend remains healthy. The monthly setup shows strong intent—October 2025 registered a clean Cup & Handle breakout, and November followed up with a close above the prior month’s high, signaling that the larger uptrend is very much intact.
The weekly chart adds more conviction. Since August 2025, Nifty has been climbing in a steady, rhythmic fashion. Time and again, pullbacks of around 3% have acted as springboards, offering fresh buying opportunities before the trend resumes its northward journey. The recent price action fits perfectly into this repeated pattern, suggesting strong structural stability.
Momentum indicators are also aligning with the bulls. RSI continues to hold comfortably above 60 across multiple timeframes—a classic sign of sustained momentum and persistent strength within the trend.
Overall, the market may be sending mixed signals on the surface, but the primary trend in Nifty remains strong. It’s a market where patience, selectivity, and focus on leadership stocks can make all the difference.
